1964 MD degree at the University of Zagreb (Croatia), 1970 specialization in ophthalmology, 1976 PhD degree (Correlation of Clinical Picture and Histological Findings in Rabbits with Experimentally Induced Increase of Intraocular Pressure), full time professor of ophthalmology at the University Medical School of Banjaluka and at the University Medical School of Sarajevo, visiting-professor at a few University Medical Schools, professor emeritus at the University Medical School of Sarajevo.

Clinical and scientific work at many Eye Clinics worldwide, cca 130 publications, published in National, European and American journals, MSc and PhD thesis supervisor, 19 ophthalmological books, text-books and brochures (written or edited), leading author or coauthor in 5 scientific research projects, three of them international ones, taking part in many National, European and International meetings worldwide since 1969 (11x as an invited speaker), organizer of many national(12) and international (5) congresses, 1982 medical degree “primarius”, chairman of the Chair of Ophthalmology University Medical School of Banjaluka and University Medical School of Sarajevo, dean of the University Medical School of Banjaluka, head of the University Eye Clinic in Sarajevo, member of the Editorial board of a few medical and ophthalmological journals, founder and the first editor of the “South-East European Journal of Ophthalmology” (SEEJO) and the ”Ophthalmological Journal of Bosnia & Herzegovina”, founder and the first president of the South-East European Ophthalmological Society (SEEOS), president of the Bosnia & Herzegovina Society of physicians in Banjaluka, president of the Ophthalmological Society in F. Bosnia & Herzegovina, member of the Foundation Board of the South-East European Ophthalmological Society.

Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), Academy of Medical Sciences of Croatia (AMZH) and Academy of Medical Sciences of Bosnia & Herzegovina (AMNUBiH).
