Dr Theodoros Potamitis obtained his medical degree (MB ChB) from the University of Leicester in 1987 where he continued to work in the fields of trauma and neurosurgery until 1989. He moved to the University of Birmingham and worked at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital in 1990 were he become Lecturer in Ophthalmology in 1995. In 1998 he moved to Cyprus and founded Pantheo Eye Centre in Limassol, a group practice consisting of twelve ophthalmic specialists providing care both in the private sector and to the Cyprus Government on a contractual basis. Professional qualifications include Fellowship to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth). He served on the board of the European Vitreoretinal Society (EVRS) as research coordinator and is a Board Member of the Eastern European Vitreoretinal Society. He is current president of the Cyprus Ophthalmological Society. He is a journal reviewer for Eye and Ophthalmic Literature. He has published numerous original articles and written chapters in ophthalmic textbooks.
